Disaster Relief:

1. When encountering disaster which causes death or disappearance during job at sea, each person may apply for NTD 48,000.

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership of union

(2) Late payment of membership fee does not exceed 6 months.

(3) Valid prove document of sea disaster.

2. When encountering disaster which causes injuries or sickness during job at sea, each person may apply for NTD 2,000.

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership of union

(2) Late payment of membership fee does not exceed 6 months.

(3) Holding seaman certificate and diagnose prove document

(4) Related prove documents issued by company or other agency.

3. When encountering disaster and being saved or injured from work needed long term (longer than 1 month) rest

and treatment, each person may apply for NTD 2,000.

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership of union

(2) Late payment of membership fee does not exceed 6 months.

(3) Holding valid document to prove the accident has occurred.

4. Death of onshore member may apply for NTD 2,000 each.

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership of union

(2) Late payment of membership fee does not exceed 6 months.

(3) Prove of death.

5. Onshore member hospitalized due to sickness or injury, holding hospitalize prove issued from health insurance agency proved hospital (4 or more days), according to the rules of the union, we send NTD 2,000. Only one application may be processed within each 6 months.

(2) Late payment of membership fee does not exceed 6 months.

(3) Holding hospitalize prove issued from health insurance agency proved hospital

*The above stated items, except for article 1, the membership should be over a year , it should be applied within 3months and at the time of application, membership fee must be paid in full.

Supportive Fund:

Death of spouse, parents or infancy, the union will support funds, each case can apply for NTD 1,000.

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership certificate

(2) Valid documentation to prove death of the related person.

(3) Personal ID or census registration

2. Fete day fund (including retirement, hospitalization and to the widow of the disaster), each can apply for NTD 1,000.

Application requirements:

according to current files of the union Investigation documents gathered from hospital or company.

Supported seaman alone in Taiwan can apply for NTD 1,000 per month.

Application requirement: Passed by the board of the union.

Spouse technique training support, each person may apply for NTD 300 each time.

Application requirements:

Holding valid membership certificate.

Late payment of the membership fee does not exceed 6 months or has been fully paid.

Course completion certificate and receipt of payment. (2 person per family per year)

*Payment over NTD 300, the union support NTD 300. If payment under NTD 300, the union support according to actual payment.

2. Scholarship for child of member:

Average grades of junior high is above 85 may apply for NTD 500 (60 offers). Average grade of high school over 80 may apply for NTD 1,000 (60 offers). Average grade of college over 80 may apply for NTD 2,000 (135 offers).

Application requirements:

(1) Holding valid membership certificate.

(2)Late payment of the membership fee does not exceed 6 months or has been fully paid.

(3) Transcript (of grades of all subjects) and application.

(4) Copy of census registration.

3. Chinese seaman’s union retirement (membership cancellation) support (effective date: July 1, 1995. Members born after July 1, 1930 are applicable to this rule.

1. Application requirements:

Must hold membership certificate after thorough check and fit in one of the followings:

(1)Members over 65 and cancelled the membership

(2)Retired according to the law and applied for cancellation of membership.

(3)Members over 55 applied for cancellation of membership.

(4) Join the membership for more than 20 years and applied for cancellation of membership.

2. Basis of support:

(1) After fully paid the unpaid membership fee, and the term of late payment does not continuously exceed for more than 2 years, and paid in full for membership fee before June 1988 (however, except for continuously service on board after Dec. 31, 1995) while calculating the retirement support (cancellation) should base on the date of joining the membership.

(2)When paid in full for the membership fee, if the late payment exceed continuously for 2 years, or does not fully paid membership fee before June 1988, the base date of calculating retirement support should be July 1, 1988.

(3) Members joined the membership after July 1, 1988 and fit the application requirements, after pay in full the late payment of membership fee, the date of joining the membership should be the base date of calculating retirement support.

3. Target of the support:

Members of the union who fit the requirements shall be the target of the support, he/she may apply to the union.

Each member can only apply once for the support.

4.ID check:

(1) Personal ID: Check the age of the member.

(2) Membership certificate: make sure the member, and calculate the membership period from the date of joining the membership.

(3) Seaman or service certificate: for reference of calculating years on board.

5. Calculation of supporting fund:

(1) Transform period of membership, onshore, offshore time into points, multiply basis amount then we get supporting amount.

(2) Calculating points, on board (paid onboard membership fee) for a year gets 6 points; onshore (paid onshore membership fee) for a year gets 1 point. Period which does not exceed 6 months deemed as 6 months. Period over 6 months, deemed as a year.

   (3)Basis amount: the basis amount of each point is NTD 200. (If the member paid the membership fee according the standard ratio, the basis amount should be calculated according to the standard).

(4) Formula:

Supportive amount = NTD 200 x (onboard membership period x 6 + onshore membership period x 1)

6. Application deadline:

The member cancelled the membership after the effective date of this rule, may apply for the support within 2 years; members fits the rule should at the same time apply for the support of cancellation of the membership. The application may not be processed after the deadline.
